The Grand Theater, Groningen presenting contemporary theater, dance and youth theater performances and concerts. In addition to a stage for guest performances of groups from within and outside the Grand Theater is primarily a production company that annually around fifteen works ban. The Grand Theater is located in the building of the same name, former cinema which was built in 1929. The facade is still more or less intact and is one of the few examples of sleek Art Deco architecture in Groningen. He is also on the list of modern monuments. Since then, the lower room (14 meters wide, 25 meters deep and 12 meters high) with its rough walls and flexible public establishment regularly used for special events location. It was in 1983 in the wake of the 2nd balcony of the former cinema hall built above. This room is smaller (12 m wide, 9 meters deep and 8 meters high) than the lower room but large enough to productions for small and medium-sized room to receive. This room also has good acoustics for concerts. The thorough renovation in 1995, a new floor on the roof of the theater building. Here are four offices, a canteen and a large rehearsal studio (13x10 meters) located. The historical atmosphere of the building is maintained as much as possible by reusing materials.
